**UPDATE: I wrote this post before the feud between Honest Toddler and the Honest Company went down. This is a review of The Honest Company diapers and wipes, not a commentary on trademarks or licensing or corporations vs. mom bloggers**

I’m not officially a “mommy blog” but I am a mom and I love hearing about other people’s experiences with baby and kid gear so every once in awhile I share mine here.

Screen shot 2013-05-25 at 10.14.35 PMRecently I saw a promo for a free trial of the Honest company diapers and wipes (which I do believe is an ongoing promo). I had considered them before, but never went for it because we can get the same amount of diapers from Costco for about half the price. This was a great way to try it out without any commitment.

Here’s my take on it:

It came in the mail pretty quickly and it was a.dor.able. Even the packaging.

Take a look at the bottom of the box:

If it’s pretty I’m so much more likely to buy it. Shallow? Mayyybe. Pretty? Yessss.

Here’s what came in the box:

  • 252 size 2 diapers
  • 4 packs of wipes
  • 1 really cute lip balm as a Mother’d Day gift (I totally went “awww” when I saw that)

The designs on the diapers were cute and since appearance is the most important part of diaper whatnot, we were sold.

Seriously though, these are great! Mia’s had several… “episodes” shall we say? and they all stayed inside the diaper. That’s a big win right there. My biggest pet peeve with diapers is when the waistband doesn’t stay around the baby’s waist and contain what it’s supposed to. These did.

They’re also super soft which is great for my kids since they have sensitive skin. Another plus is that they’re pretty thin so they don’t take up a ton of room in the dresser or diaper bag.

As for the wipes, they are sooo soft. They don’t have any of that gross chemical or lemony smell that wipes tend to have and they don’t get stuck in the wrapper which can really impede things when you are trying to keep a squirming baby from jumping off the changing pad with your other hand.

There’s also the whole philosophy behind the company, which you can read about here. It basically states that their products are eco-friendly, non-toxic, organic, and every other way you can say “natural”.

Plus it made Mia’s bum look extra cute :)

I also like that it doesn’t have to be a set amount per month, you can change the delivery date whenever you want so you just get new ones when you need them and it’s free shipping over $50.

I seriously loved everything about it except the price, which is why I called to cancel after the promo and they offered a nice discount for the first full shipment. That was nice :)

Summary:

Pros- came quickly, adorable design, held up to blowouts, soft, thin, eco-friendly etc.

Cons- expensive

Has anyone else used The Honest Company diapers, wipes, or other products? What do you think? Do you like them? I wish they were cheaper!
