Teenage Gilit is so jealous of Sloan. Together with her mom Laurie of Laurie Jones Home, they put together a fun, bright, and layered room filled with personal touches and DIYs.

“Her room was put together for hopefully the last time (we’ve change it a lot).  It happened because she wanted to go back to a twin bed and set it up like a couch so her friends could sit on it and free some space up on the floor, where they actually all sit.  We found the metal day bed at the Goodwill and I sprayed it green.”

“The room has a lot of elements that makes it personal to Sloan, like the artwork, she’s been collecting a new piece about every year.  It doesn’t have to be expensive just something that isn’t mass produced.  We’ve hung her guitar and since she loves fashion she has a mannequin she likes to display her jewerly and clothing on.”

Thank you so much for sharing, Sloan and Laurie! I love love LOVE that blanket (and bedskirt!), the Urban Walls gold heart decal (I’m obsessed with UW btw and you should be too), and how personal the decor in the room is.

Were you this cool when you were her age? What did your room look like? I was changing mine, moving furniture around every chance I got. Check out Laurie’s blog for more fab home inspiration.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Chanukah! I am so very very grateful for my family, friends, and all of you and I love me some Chanukah!
